Three year old offer

We are able to offer a minimum of 15 hours Nursery education for 38 weeks of the year and we do so following Nottinghamshire County Council's school term dates. We are able to offer this under the following two scenarios.

3 YEAR OLD - 15 HOURS

All children in England are entitled to 15 hours free Nursery provision for 38 weeks of the year the term after they turn three.

3 YEAR OLD - 30 HOURS

The funded hours for 3 year olds was extended to 30 hours for some working parents from 2017.

Rising Three offer

We are also able to offer a limited number of Rising Three spaces when they are available which are designed to help the youngest members of our school family to join us the term that they turn three. Rising 3’s are defined as children who are registered pupils at a school and have not yet reached the age of three, but will do so before the end of their first term at school. The Ofsted exemption for Rising 3’s, set out in Childcare (Exemptions from Registration) Order 2008, is for registration purposes only and not ratios.

All offers are made with due regard to the safeguarding requirements set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). These set out the minimum staff:child ratios, minimum staff qualification levels and minimum space requirements. As per these requirements, the ratio for Rising 3’s are 1 member of staff to 5 children; once a child turns 3 years old, they are included in the 1:13 ratio.

RISING THREE WORKING FAMILIES

In 2023, Childcare Reforms stated that eligible working parents would be able to access 15 hours of funded childcare per week, for 38 weeks of the year and we are delighted to now be able to offer this.

RISING THREE SUBSIDISED PLACE

We are very proud to be able to offer a limited number of Rising Three spaces when they are available. They are designed to help the youngest members of our school family to join us the term that they turn 3 and they come at a subsidised cost to parents.

Making payments for Nursery care

We request that you use our online payment system 'SchoolMoney' to pay for any additional provision you may use. We will pre-populate your lunch club and Nursery dinner bookings in SchoolMoney so you will be able to see upcoming payments half-term at a time. Parents are asked to ensure payments are made in advance.

Please click on the QUICKLINKS at the top of our website for access to School Money.

Before and After Nursery care

We have our own before and after nursery club on site.  Please follow the link for more information.

Parents may also wish to make arrangements with private nurseries/child minders who offer wrap-around care outside the times of our sessions. The parent and care provider must make their own arrangements should this be required. The school will always be the recipient of the funding for the child’s place and the private day care provider will charge parents/carers for their provision.

Starting Nursery

We would be delighted if you chose us as the setting where you would like your child to begin, or continue, their childcare journey. To ensure that both your child, and you, feel confident and secure, we carefully plan an induction program to help you all settle quickly.

This is made up of

Getting Ready for Nursery

This is an opportunity for your child to visit the Nursery setting and become familiar with their new exciting learning environment.

Home visit

We like to visit all children at home before they start. We feel that children settle more quickly following home visits, giving them the chance to meet the staff in the security of their own home. The home visit also provides an opportunity for an informal chat about anything parents feel may affect their child at Nursery.

Stay and Play

The day before your child is due to start with us, they will have an opportunity to 'Stay and Play' accompanied by an adult that they trust. This provides support for the child and an opportunity for the adult to see what happens in Nursery.

Staggered Nursery start date

Starting dates for new children are staggered so that they are welcomed into a well-established and calm climate where they can have the full attention of staff. Parents are given an individual start date for their child.
